Last Week           6/9           Season Total      130/189 There is a lot that could be said this week what with the goings on at Sydney.   I won’t dive into any of that as I’m pretty sure you can find out more than I know from the many other sources available.   Needless to say, what were they thinking?   I’d say they weren’t thinking and I’ll leave it at that. Last Week           7/9           Season Total      124/180 Here we are at the penultimate round of the season.   If you’re behind in the tipping, you need to take some risks and take them now.   The end of the season fizzles out a bit for the AFL with the top 10 effectively set.   There are a few remote chances of things going awry for some clubs but in most cases the destinies are not fully in their own hands.   Geelong is dominating the headlines for what really amounts to an error in administration.   Journalists are running with it as it’s something they can write about and are trying to make it sound like Geelong are the epitome of everything evil.   Reading some of the articles it sounds like they have been stockpiling Weapons of Mass Destruction, installed tanks containing sharks with “frikkin” laser beams and are putting ...

Last Week           5/9           Season Total      117/171 We have officially entered the pointy end of the season.   You know we have because AFL bosses and everyone else came out and started talking about the prospect of tanking in the final round of the home and away season in favour of a better chance in the finals. For the top 6 teams it shouldn’t be an issue as they will get a week off anyway, such is the way the AFL decided to prioritise the final round of the season over the first week of the finals.   For the Wildcard teams though, it is an interesting debate.   Given the fixtures, it looks increasing like they will be in a position where the last round won’t affect their ladder standing and the temptation to ‘large volume water storage device’ would be high.   The AFL have come out swinging talking about how hard they would come ...
